Good walking tracks for all abilities. Pram and wheelchair suitable and flat and wide. Toilets available at carpark. Can't see much of the Desal plant but an enjoyable walk. Drove down to Williamson's Beach too. It was wild and windy and the sea was a treacherous yet beautiful!

I was most disappointed with my experience here. First of all to someone not from the area it is difficult to know where to go. You are warned online that there is no access to the desal plant, so it took me a while to figure out that the entrance to the ecological reserve is at the same place as the entrance to the desal plant itself. There are no signs pointing to the reserve from the main roads. Finally I saw the small print on the main desal plant sign. At the ecological reserve (where the bird hide is), whilst it initially looked promising, I rapidly became disallusioned as soon as I moved away from the parking area. There is a map with an overview at the start and I thought I would follow the circular track all the way round. The map showed that there are supposed to be further information stations at several places - I never found any and that caused great difficulty in finding my way. The signage is VERY, VERY POOR. Tracks go off in various directions without signs. Half way round the circular circuit the track just seemed to come to an end, without any signage at all. Not wanting to backtrack I did not know where to go, but took a chance on a disused road that fortunately took me back to the start. I did find the bird hide and can only say 'do not waste your time', there was no water to be seen (despite the lavish display on the map) and I did not see any birds here. I also was surprised to find that the so-called 'Viewing Deck' elsewhere on the track was more like a resting spot and was barely raised so you could see nothing more from it than from the track itself. As a result of the signage debacle I did not complete my circuit. I left after an hour and a half of frustration. My overall impression was that the developers of the reserve simply ran out of enthusiasm to properly complete the project..

One of my favourite places to go. Kangaroos, emus and many other animals to see. Lots of walking tracks

The walk is safe and interesting, my dogs and I enjoyed a 10km walk. We saw kangaroos and heard lots of other wild life.

They have done a great job of hiding these huge buildings plenty of animals around the area and a great beach. I have been coming to the area for over 30 years and its in better condition now than it was as a farmland swamp cleared of all vegetation. Recomend atleast having a stroll on the boardwalk.

Interesting to see but a shame that there is no informative/tour or information center for visitors.
