What a wonderful place. Fantastic hosts who were so friendly and genuinely nice people. Food was good pub grub served with a welcoming touch. We stayed overnight. The rooms are brand new and very cosy and thoughtful touches like the handwritten weather report in the morning next to fresh milk delivered to your bedroom door just added to the excellence. From the group of Yorkie cyclist, thank you so much. We will be back.

Our first experience of a pub after lockdown and this was a very pleasant one (apart from the wasps but you can't help that). The one way system, the cleaning methods available in the lavatories and the friendliness of the staff, made us feel very comfortable entering the premises, and we chose to sit in one of the pods outside to have our drinks and a snack. We weren't able to book a table to eat today, but will definitely be back for another visit.
Good place to rest your tired legs after hike up to Curbar edge and fish and chips for lunch wash down with a pint of real ale. 4 star afternoon.
Absolutely brilliant! We had the large pork roasts; perfectly cooked vegetables and a lovely variety, creamy leeks which I enjoyed on the mash, rosemary roast potatoes, a delicious Yorkshire pudding, enough gravy, and super tasty pork with crackling. If I lived nearby, this would be my go-to roast dinner :) Lovely decor and friendly staff.
Best value Sunday lunch. Small pork - masses of delicious fresh veg, a roast, mash, creamy leeks, Yorkshire pud and gravy - all for just 8!! We have always been very impressed with the quality of food here. Will definitely be back!!
