So I called the derby police department and told them that my oldest daughter really wanted to see the cops! So I spoke with a lieutenant and asked him if he’d be willing to come to our house. Well.... Derby outside themselves!!! These police officers made all three of my daughters the happiest kids! They came with the whole squad of officers including the fire truck with a sign that said my daughters name on it saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY! THEY MADE ALL MY KIDS FEEL SO SPECIAL! One police officer spoke through the intercom and said happy birthday and another officer gave all three daughters some goody bags! I just want to say that I love living in Derby and that you guys ROCK!! Thank you so very much! Way to go DERBY!!

The irony of this review is that I normally love Derby police. Today they shook my confidence in their commitment to protect. A very reckless driver of a silver dodge pickup with a spoiler on the rear section of the truck bed pulling a trailer loaded with a huge pile of trees hanging out over the edge of the trailer by as much as 6-8 feet smashed into the front and side of my SUV and just kept going. Upon calling 911 Derby police dispatch insisted on sending me to my house to be interviewed instead of stopping the crazy tree hauler from damaging anyone else's car or even pedestrians. I stayed on the phone with 911 dispatch for over 5 minutes to report where to apprehend this driver - they sent no one to the scene but instead insisted I go home. After dutifully going home to be interviewed I learned that Derby police never sent anyone to stop the crazy tree hauler. Basically a hit and run that was allowed to run - not good.

I love derby police. Not only are they so amazing and friendly, I went to McDonald's today after school because I didn't get to eat lunch and I needed something quick before work. There was a cop in front of me. I had thought he got through the drive through pretty quick but I didn't think much of it. When I got to the window to pay they told me the car in front of me payed for me it honestly made my day and if your reading this officer, thank you

They're a peace of mind, they're helpful in rediscovering your residence or other situations if needed, just ask and go forth without assuming they won't be of any assistance. Thank you for helping your lost kansas people. Plus, responding to all calls of emergency and non emergency situations that is everyone at the police department. ️

I was headed home last night around 11:30 on Rock rd. and got stuck behind a car doing 5mph under the speed limit. I was trying to get over into the next lane to pass them, but I was following a little closely. I was pulled over by Officer Clennan, who was very professional, to-the-point and patient while I gathered my information. He was very understanding, and graciously let me go with a warning not to follow too closely for the safety of myself and other motorists. He's very committed to his job, and to the well-being of Derby and its residents. Before you get the wrong impression from some of these reviews, check the names of the people who post them and that should tell you everything you need to know.. God bless our men & women in law enforcement!
