Matera hill is located in between jawhar-dahanu road near dengachimet village.It is one of the highest peak in Palghar district. There are no more distance to climb the mountain but the beauty of way is outstanding . In above the Matera hill there is beautiful look at top.In above the hill you can see near about most of the forts ,dams citys etc. Like Jawhar, Gambhirgad, dhamni dam, Mahalakshmi, Aasherigad, Aasawa fort , kaldurg fort , tandulwadi fort,Takmak fort, Kohoj fort, Khand Dam Tansa dam , vikramgad Bhoupatgad or more.If you want to see more than that you carry durbin when you treak that hill.You also see the waterfalls near them. Near the hill you can see the ancient caves. There was a Goddess temple. That temples door open only at once in 5yaers. If you interested for adventure you can go there.& If you are from Palghar treakers you must go . Because you can see your all treaking forts dams in thats place.
