I was very interested in learning about Legal Design Thinking, as I needed to know how to communicate about privacy issues better to the clients of my Internet of Things company. The workshop that Lieke organized was a lot of fun and informative too! I would recommend anybody who needs to communicate about legal matters to at least learn a little bit about visual thinking and I don't think there is any other company like Visual Contracts that can teach it better.

As a LLM in information law I am particularly aware that contracts and especially terms and conditions are just written by lawyers for lawyers. Lieke has shown me that legal design can change that, if we agree that contracts should be comprehendible for ‘normal’ people as well. I attended the 1 day workshop on legal design thinking. Though I was skeptical at first I was surprised by the bright solutions Lieke came up with. As a jurist I generally think from a written language point of view. Lieke showed that legal design has far more possibilities than I was aware of. It is not the replacement of words by images that is the solution. It is de combination of an easy recognizable image-language in combination with words that makes legal documentation understandable. First of all because it is more approachable, and therefore I am more willing to start reading. And secondly because there is a clear uniformity that helps me to understand the information. The workshop didn’t just show me the possibilities of design thinking. It interactively confronted me with the challenges that are ahead of us to implement it. For various legal (and business!) areas there are different possibilities and challenges. As a gifted listener and designer, Lieke is the right designer to accompany lawyers on those challenges. I can recommend the workshop to every jurist who shares the wish to discover the possibilties to make legal documentation conceivable.
