Very rarely do I really dislike a hotel, but The Patten Hotel really got me to be unhappy. I ended up with a room that had NO window. That is terribly depressing, what made it worse is that the TV did not work (adequate distraction) and the internet was so slow that a snail would have been faster delivering a letter. When I asked the staff about internet speed they readily acknowledged that it just wasn't great in the hotel - ever - not anywhere. I tried working in the lobby, but that really didn't make a difference and thus I ended up tethering. The room wasn't terrible - it was reasonably clean, and was actually rather spacious, but that just couldn't make up for its shortcomings, especially at a time, when the room wasn't exactly cheap. Breakfast the next morning was adequate. Nothing to "call home" about, but nothing to complain about either. Ideally I would want to give them 2 1/2 star, but that's not an option - so 2 stars it is.

It is below average quality. The owner of the restaurant does not want to invest any money in the hotel. You will see 10 different colours on the walls.
Fair, in China Town. Cheapest room hasn't windows
I mean, the place is nice, you get what you need. It's what you expect from an alright hotel. No windows in my room, and I think there's nearly no windows in any room, so that's definitely a down side. Was hoping cleaning would occur earlier, since I left in the morning, came back in the afternoon, and it was just about to cleaned when I arrived. It's a good place if you just need somewhere to stay, and don't really care about hotel service too much. To be fair I didn't test any hotel services during my trip so I can't make any claims on that.
Simple hotel room clean no breakfast
Hotel in China town. The prices were cheap but it was a room without windows and the bed lining didn't look so clean. The staff was nice though. The breakfast is a great deal! It was like 3 euros each for a breakfast bar
We were booked for three nights. We left after one. Our room at least had a window but it could not be opened. The room was stuffy and has a smell of stale food ( from the restaurant in the hotel). Our friend’s room was in the basement and did not even have a window! It appeared to be below the laundry as there was a running water sound all night. The rooms were not very well cleaned either. We left after one night and they would not refund us for our unused nights. Do not stay here. Moved to the IBIS - like luxury in comparison.
Stayed 3 nights and it was a nightmare! Unbearably hot and the air con didn't work. It blew lukewarm air. We asked to change room and we were put in a room without a window and still the air con blew lukewarm air: useless! We could not wait to leave! The hotel is quite run down, stained carpets, not exactly clean, non-existing a/c, basic breakfast. Will not go back.
