On November 1th (2017) a successful restart was made by Damco Aluminum Delfzijl Coöperatie U.A., in short 'ALDEL'​. From the beginning of 2018, investments were made in the adjustment of the remaining part of the electrolysis until the full capacity of the company will be reached (Q1 2019). Employment at Aldel will grow to around 300 FTEs as a result of this investment. At ALDEL we produce high-quality aluminium. Using an electrolysis process, liquid aluminium is produced from alumina, electrolyte and electricity in the Electrolysis halls (or Potrooms). The liquid aluminium is then mixed, annealed and poured in the Casthouse and finally delivered to the customer. Daily 250 people with great skill and commitment work on this beautiful product. In addition to the Production department, we also have support services within Aldel, such as Technical Services, Finance, Commerce, IT and HRM.
