Mainly it's famous for pharmacy/cosmetics, but they also offer a wide range of products. You could find snacks, toiletries, vitamins, child toys, diapers, and even direct photo prints. In some time of the year, Kruidvat offers a dag kaart (Day Ticket) of NS train in very low price. One more thing, whenever I buy something from this store, the employees can always speak Dutch effortlessly.

Never had problems with the employees at Bastiaanplein up to today. Accompanied by my two little children I was treated very impolitely by a rude middle aged employee. Apparently she doesn't care about customer service whatsoever. Never going back there again!!!

It's the proverbial Dutch discount drugstore. It'll take you some time to find it in the mess and it might be out of stock if it's a discounted item but it's cheap. Especially the discounted items.
