GWK Travelex seem to have a monopoly on cash fx transactions in the Netherlands. They take advantage of this by offering rates that are poor for the customer. Avoid at all costs. I can't comment on their service levels because once I'd finished laughing at their derisory rates I left and used an ATM instead. Nice long queue for the people waiting to be fleeced though. Update: open again and still offering terrible rates, shame I thought covid had killed them off.

Horrible rate. Needed to change USD to Euro the other day. When the spot rate was 1 to 0.81, this place offered 1 to 0.72 plus service charge of 3.5 Euro - that is a 30% bid-ask spread (for 100) on one of the most traded currency pairs. When I ask if they are the only company to exchange currency as the banks stopped doing exchanges, the worker there said yes - that was not true. Go to Amsterdam, you can get 5% spread without service charge.

Horrible rate! Please don't go to this place! Traded in 517 pounds to receive just 514 euros despite google saying I should get 575 euros. The staff were rude and unfriendly and insisted on their rate of 0.99 instead of the more accurate (and recent) rate of 1.11 as shown on the internet. They even had the gall to charge 4 euros as commission after offering such bad rates! Travel to amsterdam or the hague to exchange your money instead, just don't visit this place!

You have to go early at the morning in order not to be told that they ran out of money and some time one window is only working so you have to wait
