A nice place. This is the best University in Sri Lanka. It's included with Cadets and Day Scholars. This university is included with all the facilities. In the top of the building of Engineering Faculty, there is a nice view of Colombo. The environment of this university is always in very clean manner.

One of the best University with a military back ground on government level. Very high security, friendly atmosphere, well coordinated internal structure. There are many subject to apply with highest rated lectures. Further more apply for a paid course will be high price. Yet its the best you can from Sri Lanka.

The best university in sri lanka. Cadet officers of tri forces and civil students are enlisted to kotelawala defence university as undergraduates. Cadet officers are given their degrees while on training and are paid for the whole training period. Civil type day scholors have to attend day time lectures and can leave after lecture time. KDU has many extra curricular activities and is on the top of many sports compared to other universities. And it gives degrees such as MBBS, BSC ENG, LLB, IT, DEFENCE, COM SCIENCE , ARCHITECTURE , SOCIAL SCIENCE and many more. Its located on ratmalana and has a good environment and also has a lake inside of it. I was a cadet officer there until 2016 and now im a commissioned officer in the sri lanka army and i know its the best place for a person to educate and be disciplined.

It is my university, so of course its the best. But then again there rally is a lot to speak of if were to tell everything honetly. There's a number of faculties, and they offer a number of undergraduate degrees as well as Masters and PHDs. For undergraduate there's a uniform if they intend to attend as day scholars, though I don't know much about the procedure or requirements for one to join in as a cadet. Day scholars basically need to have the eligibility to enter university, and thethen will short list according to other quifications I guess. But, once you get in is when the best of it starts. A rare and exceptional experience. The best 3 or 4 years you'll have in your life time I guarantee, because it definitely was for me.

When Ceylon received independence and dominion status in 1948, Colonel Kotelawala contested the 1947 general elections from the United National Party (UNP) founded by D. S. Senanayake from the Dodangaslanda electorate and was elected to the newly formed House of Representatives, which was the elected lower house of parliament established under to Soulbury Constitution. Kotelawala was an important member the UNP and was appointed by Senanayake as Minister of Transport and Works, retaining the portfolio of public works which he had held in the second board of ministers.[8] During his tenure major projects such as the Laxapana power project, expansion of the Colombo harbor, expansion of the Ratmalana Airport, construction of the University of Peradeniya and the expansion of road in the island took place.[9] With S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike leaving the UNP and crossing over to the opposition, Kotelawala was appointed Leader of the House in the House of Representatives on 12 July 1951.
