Very nice wide open park that's also very close to Madison and nearby towns and cities. Very accessible right off Highway 51. There's also a good area for dogs. There's a fenced in area for dogs to go without a leash too. They have groomed cross country ski trails here. When you're done you can eat at the Pine Cone restaurant that's just outside the park entrance or just buy some of their delicious pies, cakes, cream puffs, donuts, elephant ears, huge cinnamon rolls or even the excellent dinner rolls. Everything we've tried has been delicious.

Main loop trail section on north east side of park was closed due to no maintenance. Also some of. Western part of trail is no longer maintained. Find the bridal trails that connection to portions of trails. The disc golf course looks amazing though. Interstate is close so parts of trail is loud. Cool boardwalk section but short and gets cut off by closure.

Permit required although they seem lax about checking...Been there several times and never been asked for it. Large fenced in park surrounded by trails, camping, and a rad disc golf course. There is also an area for smaller dogs and has a few agility obstacles. Pet waste bags are supplied at the entrance and they're pretty good about having them stocked at all times. There is also a large family porta-potty near the parking lot. Overall, this park is one of the bigger parks in the area and the majority of dog owners here seem respectful of park etiquette. Have fun!

This is one of my favorite parks! It's close to where I live and convenient to get to. You can play horse shoe here, frisbee golf, you can hike (there are many trails), camp, you can have a picnic, there's a dog park, etc. The terrain goes from green to yellow - in that it starts to turn sort of marshy at certain points in the park. It's sort of noisy due to the freeway, so that's unfortunate. However, it's still a beautiful, nice destination. Not far away from the park, either, is the Pinecone restaurant and there's a gas station right there in the same facility. The restaurant has fantastic baked goods. So, maybe after a hike you grab a bite. It's awesome!
