Man, I love this school. I came in as a transfer student as a junior, and I love this place so much. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and I don't know if I would have been able to go through a successful transfer without them! I started at Northern Illinois, then went to Harper, and now I am here. Having experienced some different environments, I know that Trinity is my new home and that I will graduate from here happily :)

Trinity is what you make it to be. I would personally rate it a 4-star school, but because of what I know to be true from asking fellow students about their experience, Trinity gets insanely mixed reviews. Here is my breakdown: Building Community: 3 stars - While I was able to build community here, it does not happen naturally and college events are better for developing friendships you already have rather than building new ones. If you have a community, Trinity is great due to its small size. Otherwise, you're out of luck. Institutional Christian values: 4 stars - Classes heavily integrate faith, there are a number of ways to get involved in ministry, and multiple gatherings a week (chapel, bible studies, worship nights...etc) to help your spiritual health throughout the week. Lacking in discipleship for non-ministry members Community Christian Values: 2 stars - A huge portion of the community is not Christian, so do not expect it to be. Non-Athletic Extracurricular Opportunities: 1 star - There are no clubs. Choir is not a club, nor is band since they both require semester-long commitments. Make your own club. Academics: 4 stars - Professors are helpful, quick to communicate, and want to see you grow. Not amazing content, but still good. Institutional Relations: 3 stars - Processing forms can be slow and things get mixed around or forgotten frequently enough that you hear stories about it regularly. Institute is happy to work things out, however.
I am 35 and older for an undergraduate student. I’ve had several years of educational experience attending community college as well as a bigger commuter college in Chicago. I didn’t know teachers like these existed. They genuinely care about the students and their humility despite being well known scholars and thinkers is not of this world. I’ve seen the secular educational world and stepping into Trinity as a student was one of the most refreshing experiences of my life. I am in the Biblical studies program. Currently learning Greek and getting a strong Biblical education. It’s incredible to learn with some of these brilliant students and teachers. This place is for real.
I'm in the TEDS graduate program. Very relaxed atmosphere on campus and during the times its not cold, the campus looks beautiful. The grad side has many middle aged people and families since the school has so many masters and doctoral students. The grad side is very diverse with people from different countries and ethnicities. Waybright center is where both campuses meet, even though they are vastly different. The undergrad side mainly consist of people fresh out of high school while most of grad side are older people out of school for a couple of year or more. Grad side male female ratio has to be at least 7 to 3 favoring men...undergrad is half and half. Professors are a mixed bag, some are very personable and approachable while others are scholars and act like they don't have time for personal matters with students...its like any university. Small campus but feels big when you always walk around. Train station is 10 minutes away by car...I recommend having a car since its a northern suburb with not a whole bunch to do if you stay on campus. Highly recommended school that does put a strong emphasis on the Christian faith in Jesus Christ.
Graduated from the college in 2000. The size of the school enables individuals to develop close relationships with other students and the professors. It's not a large state school where one can get lost. Trinity might not have all the amenities compared to a state school due to it's limited size but its impact is global.
