My wife and myself have been long term clients and we have always been delighted with the service we have received. James has always given first class care and, having joined the eye care scheme, we have benefited from the new hi-tech equipment which gives us confidence in that any eye problems are quickly detected.

I have visited James Allen here for many years for regular eye tests and glasses. Had an eye test last year and some nice Ray Ban glasses made up using their eye-zen machine and they've been BRILLIANT, I can see car registration plates and road signs in HD and look a bit cleverer when driving. Know it must have a been a really tough year for opticians but always had a great experience here and wouldn't go anywhere else. The girls on reception and who help pick the glasses are always lovely, friendly and a good giggle too :D
Great service all round - modern equipment, nice decor, professional service and helpful receptionists. James spotted a problem with my eye that could have caused major problems later on if not picked up. Deserves much more than just 3.5 stars

My initial experience with this opticians was great. Great staff and optician. I had new lenses put in my existing glasses, as I could not afford a new pair of glasses, and my glasses were in not exactly old. Today, I rang up to ask details of measurements taken to make the right lenses, so I could have the right lenses replaced as it was no longer the right power and I can not see well out of it. This was the cheaper option as I can not easily afford a full lenses replacement. This information is important so that the new lenses could match the existing lense in the left eye. I have moved away from Sheffield, but I would have otherwise come to the store to get this information. I did not appreciate the store being obstructive of giving me data that they hold about me.The store refused to give me my information I requested. I was going to request this data under my GDPR rights but I have decided it is not worth the hassle. Very poor service.
