Go to Dave's Fish and chip ship if you want to taste what are probably, the best fish and chips, in the UK!!! Why? Perfect non gooey batter, thick chunky cod with the skin on it and the most delicious tasting chips. All served whilst observing the Covid 19 restrictions. A true gem of the Norfolk coastline. UPDATE AUGUST 2020 : Once again my family and I were treated to georgous tasting fish and chips. Clearly Sandra, Jordan and Will, work with the best quality fish available. Cod is a large fish when it's whole and they must fillet the fish to a high standard in order to have the different cuts available from the fryer. Substandard fish and chip shops buy in cod shaped factory produced pieces to make life easier, so it's nice to know that traditional fish frying skills are alive and well in Sheringham. Consistency is everything in food and Dave's fish and chips deliver every time. You can't beat eating their fish and chips on the sea front, although they do have a large seated restaurant as well. Thank you for the delicious food.

That, was the best fish & chips I've had in forever! The fish was really tasty, batter not too thick or too greasy. Had a nice crunch to it and the chips were lovely too. Fresh tasting and not greasy. Winner was a besutifully sunset to boot #happydays

Had Haddock and chips takeaway last night. I can safely say it was the smallest piece of fish I've ever been served. At 7.00 was also the most expensive considering the portion size! Is the place under new management? Because I've never had such a poor piece of fish from them before. Will be trying the alternative fish & chip shops in Sheringham from now on. Also, i don't think the hanging 'chain' curtain entry and exit to the shop is ar all covid friendly. My little boy insisted on playing with the chains and it then occured to me how many other pairs of hands would have been on those chains during the day? I'm sure they are not being regularly disinfected, orceven disinfected at all! I shall be speaking with the local food standards agency on Monday morning to discuss this health hazard.
