I paid 800LKR for this extremely dry, old, overcooked, small piece of chicken. My brother had the same meal. I had to drink a lot in order to force this dry stuff down my throat. The vegetables and fries were okay, but wasn't enough even for kids. Worst food experience in Sri Lanka for the price. Just YUCK! NEVER coming back. I don't really care about the service, but that was really bad too. The location was alright UPDATE (17.02.18): I just had my FIRST FOOD POISONING experience in Sri Lanka after eating at this place. This is my 3rd time in Sri Lanka, and I'm also Sri Lankan. DO NOT EAT HERE (Especially not their chicken)! My plan was to climb Adam's Peak tomorrow, but I may have to cancel that because of this... :(

Food is really good only the ambiance could have improved. Staff is great and will do customized menus if required Overall CHC hotels are good for stopover lunches/ dinners Average LKR 2000 for 3 people
A great place for Sri Lankan food lovers. Ordered rice and curry for lunch as I generally do at Ceylon Hotel Corporation Rest Houses and was treated to delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. Finished off with a milk tea which is a must if you stop at any CHC Rest House. The tea and the Sri Lankan rice and curry is yet to dissappoint me at a CHC Rest House. Reduced one star as the staff wasn't as friendly as expected.
Lunch was not worth for the price we paid. It was Rs. 650.00 per person and served with only Dhal (lentils) , beet root , bitter gourd, papadan and economy pieces of chicken. I think government has mafe a mistake in renting this resthouse to a zoo keeper.
