We visited Dalvi's last weekend with friends as we had heard really good things about Seema's Indian cuisine when she was running her 'personal chef' business. Her restaurant is lovely with her own beautiful handpainted artwork of Mumbai on the wall, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and between us we sampled most of the menu! I loved the choice of spiciness for each dish and the presentation was just beautiful. The food tastes clean and fresh with all the flavours easy to pick out, and it is in no way stodgy and oily like some Indian meals can be. It's great that Seema changes her menu fortnightly too, so there will be something different to try next time. We will most definitely be back!

Firstly this is totally authentic Indian cuisine and not the Restaurant where you would find Chicken Tikka Masala. The staff are young, friendly, helpful and can't do enough for you and Seema the owner is such a delightful lady. The food is another level, I have eaten many an authentic curry around the world and in this country and Dalvis is no exception. The smell, the taste and texture when you try the food is just sublime. The portion sizes are not meagre in the slightest, the amount of succulent meat in the curry is astounding, we left the restaurant feeling well fed after three courses. I have to say, when you see the odd bad review of Dalvis from somebody nitpicking or somebody who gives KFC, McDonald's and other fast food places 5 stars while giving Dalvis 1star then the cynic in me thinks there are shenanigans going on . If all you have ever had is the usual British curry then it wouldn't hurt to give Dalvis a whirl, your taste buds will surely be tingling. Big thank you to Seema and all the staff at Dalvis for a truly wonderful experience.
What a gem of a place this is! From the artwork on the walls to the amazing food - everything is prepared with care and attention. I was used to the 'popadom with everything' approach to Indian food, but Seema crafts her dishes in such a way that you get authentic Indian food that is beautifully flavoursome. I'm not a fan of spice, but being able to customise how spicy you had a dish was excellent, and having no spice did nothing to detract from how delicious my butter chicken was. Even as a set menu, there's was plenty of choice and was was superb value for money for the time and expertise that went into each component of the meal. Seema was an excellent host and I will most definitely be back again ... and again!
We visited the restaurant for the first time tonight after having quite a few deliveries of very good food previously. The food tonight was absolutely superb, the small menu which is changed regularly is a great idea and it was good to be asked how hot or not we wanted the main courses. Can’t wait to sample the street food. It just shows that hard work and perseverance really does pay off. The restaurant is a credit to you Seema
Fantastic tasty food. Beautifully spiced but not leaving you with excessive heat. What I've always looked for in an authentic Indian meal. Staff very friendly.
