For the money, Samar is my new favorite restaurant. Tapas prices & nice sized sharing portions. The Indian plates were particularly flavorful...but all were good. Thanks!

Excellent food for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone (assuming they like latino food). The service was great.

Fun place located in the middle of Dallas' Arts District. Sampled numerous small plates from all three regions featured in the menu - Spanish, Indian, Mediterranean. Most were hits.

Great unique style food. Not inexpensive but worth it for the occasion. Good variety in small dishes and the sauces are excellent too. Will surely revisit.

Funny. The name of this place means: "Wild Saint" and that's exactly what I want to be.. but no, not in some creepy destructive kinda way. Try the yellow-fin tuna ceviche, and lobster tamale ..and O yeah, some duck tacos! Thanks Chef Pyles.

Food definitely stood out. Try the tasting menu with a large party.

We went on a very cold Friday and it was not too crowded, but I could see how the cool atmosphere in this downtown spot would pick up on a warmer night when you could take advantage of the patio. I like finding a new place like this, especially when we are in an indecisive mood and not sure what kind of cuisine we want, other than the same old thing. Samar delivers on that creativity you expect from Pyles, you don't have to stick to one genre. The plates look small but are surprisingly rich and filling - I would recommend 2-3 per person then see how you feel. The mussels were creamy and sublime, and we also tried a mediterranean "micro-cuisine" scientific foie gras shooter that I found quite intriguing, but the best stuff we both liked seemed to be finishing off on the Indian beef rib and a lentil soup accompanied by a coconut/cranberry naan bread. The wine list looked good and affordable, but we had mixed drinks and custom-blended tea, both excellent. Service was friendly and a belly dancer added a nice diversion to the evening. I will need to try it again because there were a lot of interesting looking menu items we didn't get to try.

Very good food with diverse flavors and textures. Did not disappoint but did not walk away saying..."I need to come back"...but I might.
