Elliot is the rudest attorney...unless you're rich from the beginning. All I got was a consultation where he says \pay me 10k to give you any advice\ after listening to an entire story. He ask for money to even give you a direction. He rushed me off the phone when I told him I did not have 10,000 and when he asked if I have any friends to borrower from - I do not. He said he does not have time and went to hung up. I had to ask him to please not hang up can he at least point me towards an attorney that could help me. \Somewhere in East TX - I gotta go.\ and he hangs up. Very frustrating considering he is obviously dealing with the lost of a human and peoples emotions. Not wise to be in this position and not have some sort of sensitivity or urge to help any and all people.

A dispute over guardianship isn't pretty, or at least it might not be pretty. Living not in Texas and yet being involved made matters more complicated. So, a few calls later, I stumbled upon Burdette & Rice. A quick phone call into the receptionist, and then a quick call with one of the attorneys on staff. We clarified some of the key guardianship issues - and voila, once they knew I had a potential attorney, things were easily solved. Quickly and efficiently.
Sometimes you can't avoid probate and you can't avoid a will contest. That's a fact. I have a relative, who shall remain nameless, and some family members in Dallas, Texas, who shall also remain nameless. Well, they died without a will and then we had a huge family dispute among the family members and heirs. I reached out to Burdette and Rice for some help, and they were great. A phone call was really all I needed to clarify some of the legal issues involved in a probate under Texas law, and then I was able to make a clear, business-oriented decision. Which is what it was. After all, there was the emotional part of dealing with the death and then there was the financial part of dealing with the estate. I chose not to \get emotional\ over all of this and that one phone call to Burdette and Rice made all the difference. I had an epiphany and dealt with the problem like a business - not an EMOTIONAL - problem. Thank you Burdette & Rice!
