I used to go to Da Laura very often when I was living in the south of France and used to be always very happy with the food and service. Times have changed and my disappointment was big this time around. The food felt like nothing special at all (far from what I experienced in the past for the same dish!), and the service was simply awful with a staff making us feel like it was a privilege eating there and being “moody” around us... Again, I used to love this typical Italian place in Cannes, but I think it will just be a memory going forward.

I’ll split the review into two, the staff and everything else. The food was really good and very tasty, I think the entire party I went with was really pleased with the food we got. The atmosphere was fairly casual and the place had an interesting decor, in a positive way, so generally a positive experience. When it comes to the staff, it was fairly different, a number of them (not all) were fairly arrogant. We came and asked if we could see a menu, the waiter said yes, however she felt like she had to make the tables first... and we were then asked to go out of the restaurant again and in through a different door to get the menues so we could see them, although the place was pretty (almost) empty and the waiter walked through the restaurant herself just to meet us at the other door... and those types of things just continued... sad as everything else was really good!

Nice Italian restaurant downtown Cannes: staff is a very sympathetic, food very typical. Worth a try

I’ve been trying to come here for a long time. At lunch alone I finally did it and let me tell you it is worth it to stay in the line. Delicious food, incredible deserts and a fair price (talking about Cannes 50 euros complete meal with wine)

Best Italian food in Cannes. We love the Spaghetti Vongole and Amici (vongole with spicy tomato sauce). Save room for the fruit tarts!

I’m very peculiar about choosing a restaurant. I go thoroughly through reviews and blog to make sure I select the best experience possible. I was turned with da laura because of some of the service reviews. So here goes my experience... there was no experience. We had book a table a week in advance and when we came the restaurant decided to close its doors because they are opening another place in the area. Unannounced on website (there is none), google or even letting their customer know... I gave only 2 one star reviews so far and it’s very sad it had to be that place. I have not tasted the food but if customers are valued this way, they are plenty of other great Italian restaurant in the area to go to
