Took the train from Madrid to Sevilla. We came to the train station a day in advance to buy our tickets. It's a good thing we did. The time we really wanted to travel was already all booked, so we grabbed the next available time. When we came back the next day to leave, we gave ourselves plenty of time to catch the train. It's a good thing we did. The platforms were quite confusing. It was hard to figure out which platform was the one we needed for our train as they were not clearly marked. We had to ask a security officer for directions more than once. They directed us upstairs and just said to catch that one. I wish they ere better marked. We finally knew we were in the right place when we showed our ticket as we went through security and they confirmed that we were in the right place. The train ride was very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our carry on luggage and the seats were very comfortable. We were able to get up from our seats to the cafeteria car and grab a bite to eat. Everything went smoothly and we soon found ourselves in Sevilla. I wish we had more high speed rail in the US. This would be a great way to travel around.

Really helpful ticket staff trains signed in English and Spanish. Great journey between Seville and Cadiz. Prices cheaper than on the net
Train station closest to centre. If getting train from Seville be careful that you get off at right Cádiz station. There is another station miles from centre.
