Cozy and authentic traditional capoverdian restaurant, owned and runned by Luciano. A capoverdian that speak fluently 4 different languages. Located on the main square of santa maria. Close during this time as unfortunately most of the business are close because of Covid situation. Moreover, this is a small island and basically is totally isolated from the rest of the world. The good thing is that it is very safe here; in Sal at this very moment, there are 0 people infected, and remember that it is a tropical island, so we have no complaints at all. I'm used to living here, and I hope that all will start to move as it uses to be. As the government told us during the last days, Capo Verde already made all the arrangements for the vaccine, and if it goes as is planned, I really hope so; by March or April, the vaccine supposes to be administrated to all people in all islands. We have just to hold and hoping for the best. I believe that the worse time is past. Note: as I said most of business are closed at the moment, the pics posted are not mine, but come from pubblic internet posts as tripadvisor. I will post new pics as soon the situation will back normal. Cheers guys.

A really nice place to eat, at a nice spot with a bit of a view over the square. The waiters aren't unfriendly, but not super enthusiastic either. It wasn't so bad that it bothered us, we went here twice and had some really nice food both times. Try the Cachupa, it's good, worth a try!

If you have 2.5 hours to kill waiting for two course meal then maybe consider coming here. Tuna tartar was server raw with soy sauce only. My main course never came, so can’t comment much there... there are better places to visit in Santa Maria.

I went to this restaurant 2 weeks ago and it was a good experience. We enjoyed the meal and service was very good. Actually was quite faster than others. The service was very profissional. Food was good and drinks as well. The limonade was great.

Great Service and the staff were extremely accommodating for our dietary needs. Food was great. the fresh salmon pasta was delicious. A great location, right in the town square, so a great place to watch the world go by. Service was to a very high standard which seems to be true of most of the restaurants in Cape Verde, certainly the ones we tried, and the food was good.

- Service - when you’re asked to move table half way through your meal to accommodate more customers, you know that customer service is low on the priority list. Even more so when the staff don’t even look at you when taking your order! - Food - It was bland and without taste. Each of the four us failed to be satisfied and left half a plate. The staff didn’t check if we were happy with the food. Had we had good food/service, we’d have recommended the restaurant to the rest of our 32 people party - as we have done so with Mekys (5* Burgers) & LobStar (5* Seafood). The Cultural Cafe lost out to good business as a result of our experience.
