This shop is a great asset to the high street. The owner takes a genuine interest in your requirements and is very willing to source products if he doesn't have them. When I need something on my way home from work it is work paying a little bit more not to have to divert to a big soulless DIY shop. And the chains can't respond to demand like a one man band can. If you haven't been then it's well worth a visit.

Amazing shop, helpful owners, and they've never let me down ... electrical, plumbing, gardening, somehow they always have whatever I'm looking for. And personally, I feel better shopping locally than driving to an out-of-town warehouse.

After so many fantastic reviews all over the social media sites and from friends I thought it only right that I try and use this local business the next time I needed something - unfortunately my experience here was not a positive one. I understand we must support local businesses and I am all for that - but anything that is actually useful in this shop is ridiculously overpriced and does not even have a price ticket on it - so you have to ask and then are made to feel bad for not purchasing said overpriced item. Apart from the convenience of this store being so close to home, I cannot think of many positive things about it. I’m sure that this may have just been an off chance, a small percentage and I’m sure that this is a great little store with fantastic management - but this was not my experience.

I was misled for the sake of a sale. It’s so easily done - go in looking for advice and shopkeeper exploits your ignorance. Is it any wonder these independent shops can barely survive the digital age? They don’t help themselves.
