Since re opening in July under the new ownership this lovely pub and restaurant has changed noticeably. No longer poor service and food but very friendly and good value top quality imaginative menu. My wife and I have visited the pub on a number of occasions both at lunchtime and in the evening and have found it to be one of the best eating places in the area. Do NOT be guided by the poor reviews of pre July 2020.

We looked forward to Sunday lunch here today after reading recommendations from the visitors book in our holiday accommodation,we were not disappointed. Lovely welcome, friendly staff and lovey food(all 3 courses) !! Beautiful surroundings by the river, watching boats go by. A lovely experience.

Today, 30.8.20, marked our second visit for a meal at this establishment. Being a Sunday the menu is, in essence, limited to a Sunday roast with a choice of either beef or pork plus potatoes and vegetables etc. (plus vegetarian alternatives of course). We opted for beef. While the potatoes and veg were nice the beef was excellent - far removed from the stringy wafer thin meat encountered elsewhere. Our previous visit, eleven days earlier, offered an entirely different menu (which applies from Wednesday to Saturday I believe). The starter, followed by a filled Yorkshire pudding were both excellent and well presented. I look forward to repeating that experience. Equally, the staff are friendly and courteous, which, as ever, is a most important factor. P.s. I'm fairly certain that this is a dog-friendly restaurant too - but it's probably best to phone and ask!

Lovely Friday evening drinkies! Good welcome from lovely staff, very smiley! Hubby very happy with beer choice and I had a nice rose. Only niggle was the music on the PA was a bit loud. We didn't say anything as we had been shown a nice corner to sit!! We want to make it our local!
