Wonderful old thatched building housing a very old pub. It appears that very little has ever changed with toilets accessed out the back Interesting local photos and trivia on the walls and they are obviously popular with local people. However, I prefer to eat where places have had something of an updating makeover.
Lovely looking place as other say in better written reviews. For those considering eating there, it's also a really good kitchen. The beef and Stilton pie was heavenly and the Cajun chicken burger was not only beautifully seasoned with noticeable heat from the chillies but the chef managed to avoid cooking it dry. We didn't taste it but our sons burger patty looked distinctly home made. We'd be back in a hurry if didn't live that far.
Really lovely pub. Beautiful old thatched building with the sort of wisteria that looks like it is structural, a nice beer garden at the back and very friendly staff. The menu looks largely like pub standards, but the quality is a little better. Very dog friendly.
Such a lovely pub! Historic, clean, lovingly decorated...Refreshingly diverse menu... killer fish and chips! Killer chilli! Lovely outdoor area... some of the cleanest and most welcoming bathrooms I've ever experienced. The staff are generous and charming. Recommended!!
