I live in Jesmond, Newcastle but I am indebted to this friendly, welcoming and immensely helpful pharmacy in Ashington. When none of the Boots' (or other) pharmacies on Tyneside, apparently, had any stocks of the particular type of insulin I needed when an emergency occurred, it was the Crescent Pharmacy that came up with the goods! And in an extraordinarily helpful and friendly way, too. This happened on a Saturday evening, when my injection pen failed to work and shot most of the remaining insulin in the phial when I withdrew the needle from the injection site. There was, apparently, a nation-wide amber warning in place on the product, of which I had not been aware, so others have probably encountered similar supply issues, too. The NHS 111 Service was, thank goodness, able to track and trace this essential, very scarce item to the Crescent Pharmacy: their last package. My supply had been ordered by telephone 10 days in advance but no one had alerted me to any possible problem in sourcing it. The 111 team, in the form of the excellent and reassuring adviser, Jenny, was able to solve the problem via a lengthy and extensive but ultimately successful online and telephone search. Many thanks to Arthur and the two other young pharmacists on duty. I felt that I had been given special treatment but I have heard similar, grateful and positive reports about the pharmacy's excellent range of goods and friendly services. All I can say is 'Many thanks, indeed!' to all involved in helping me on that worrying evening.
