An institution as old as the station it sits in, this is a great café-come-newspaper shop and one that's well worth a visit. The crowning glory of this place is their bacon sandwiches, which are some of the best I've ever eaten. They are a serving of smoked bacon, soft white bread and buttery perfection. A steal at 2.40 with a cup of tea. Every journey should start this way...

Good buffet with plenty of food and drink to choose from, well stocked shop and newsagents, plenty of seating and pleasant suroundings, friendly helpful staff.
I've been going here for breakfast for the best part of thirty years. It's a great place for people watching and the food's always really good. The buffet, as it's known, has a retro feel, harking back to the halcyon days of railway travel. There's a great range of magazines and papers and the coffee's good.
