Paul carried out a homebuyer survey on a Victorian property for us. After the survey was done, he let us know his frist impression which was very helpful. It then took him only a few days to put together the report. As we first time buyers, we had a lot of questions about the report and Paul spent at least 45 minutes on the phone with us to explain a few things and answer our questions. Excellent service from Cotswold Surveyors. Homebuyers Survey carried out quickly with an initial verbal update the following day. Hard copies issued quickly. Very professional with good communications. Would definitely recommend and use again.
We recently had a Georgian property reviewed by Cotswold Surveyors. Our experience was not a useful one with their report being repetitive, non specific in areas and in places contradictory.There was a list of 10 urgent repair and inspection related items that they claimed needed attention prior to agreeing purchase. The itemised deficiencies had no estimate of remedial costs and even though the company called to say that they would do so, failed to keep this promise when we followed up with the excuse given that it was difficult to do so with the information we had. We did not get a valuation with the survey but paid an extra 50 pounds plus VAT for one. When we received the evaluation the report stated that it was understood that an agreement had been made between the buyer and the seller for a certain amount and that they agreed that the house was worth exactly this sum. The information provided was anything but helpful for us to make a judgement as to whether to go ahead or abandon our bid. We are thus substantially out of pocket but none the wiser. In view of our experience, I would certainly neither use this company again nor recommend anyone else to use their services.
First-rate experience with Cotswold Surveyors. Godfrey delivered a comprehensive survey then patiently chatted through all our concerns at some length. Giles also gave us fantastic advice, again going above and beyond. Frustratingly, our purchase fell through just before exchange, but we’ll not hesitate to use Cotswold Surveyors again for the survey on our next property.
