My brother and I had a one week course here a couple of weeks ago - an indescribably good experience. I've not seen a gliding club with such good facilities (or such a long runway) before. Our instructor, Mike, was brilliant - even managing to put up with our nerve-racking landings in the rain and high x-wind! Will be back for solo and further training

Came here with my son's explorer scout group not expecting to get to have a go myself, but they ended up having enough time for me to go too! The people flying were so friendly and welcoming, we had a great time here, what a buzz taking control of the glider was - would recommend to anyone

A very friendly club but to my mind not particularly well organised as one had to endure long waits between flights After a welcome from Andy, the Club Chairman, who conducted us around the facilities we then enjoyed a safety briefing from our instructor I was with one other one day gliding course participant, and an indication of the amount of wait time was that she hadn't had any flight by 2 pm. Admittedly there was initially some fog and then later some light low cloud. that delayed launches. There were also no thermals around at all, so each flight time was minimal. At 17:30 we had both only got four launches in out of a promised six, and then then there was a problem with the cable launch equipment so no further flights were possible. So out of 8 hours at the airfield we probably only got 20 minutes of flight time each. All some what disappointing. When we were up it was fantastic and the instructors were excellent; but I would recommend that a day course only be booked during summer months when the likelihood of thermals is higher. As other reviewers have said places are very limited, so that can be easier said than done

Gliding is cheaper that you think, and it's amazing, even if you only have a experience flight.
