Had such an amazing time. We went tonight for out first wedding anniversary and we have never had such amazing food drinks and service. Chris and Lauren ( hope I got that right) were incredible. Chris had the best service and made our anniversary so special and Lauren made the best espresso martini I have ever had. They are a testament to restaurant and we cant wait to come back.

I have eaten here a couple of times for lunch - it's never been 'stand out amazing' - probably a 3.5 star. However for the first time, I tried it for breakfast and it really was bad. I ordered the cooked breakfast which comes with all the standard ingredients. My girlfriend had the ham hock hash which I only had a bite of and it was kinda flavourless and sloppy. Both of us had a poached egg, both of which were over cooked. Literally not a single drip of soft yolk - I don't know how it can be done that badly. We don't usually send things back, but on this occasion we both asked for another poached egg. I could tell the bacon was left out for a while before serving it to me - it wasn't over cooked - but extremely tough, in areas it was too dry to swallow. the sausage was in the same form, left out to long so was very dry on the outside and wrinkled up. The \sour dough\ toast suffered the same ill treatment - it certainly wasn't a good quality sour dough, but even so, it was over toasted and then left out. It's texture resembled more of a dry weetabix than bread. The grilled tomato was sour to the point it made my face squint - I understand not being able to source good quality tomato in England, but adding sugar to counter-act it is standard practice and should have been done here. The potato rosti and coffee was just about the only thing I actively enjoyed - coupled with the hip decor probably saved this place from a 1 star.

Lovely place, great food and drink selection. Service was top notch, came in last week and served by an absolute star of a waiter, young chap from Manchester named Teddy, dressed really smart and vintage in a flat cap and bow tie, who couldn’t do enough for us. Recommended tofu fish and chips as I’m vegan and was very charming, personable and hospitable throughout. Shame he doesn’t normally work in Taunton, but if he’s anything to go by, the cosy club is certainly a place I’ll be visiting again. If there’s anyway of passing on my thanks to him over in Manchester I’d very much appreciate it. I was the lady who recommended going for a drink at the ring of bells for his evening off

Glad we went here, very nice experience from the second we have arrived. All staff were amazing, professional and very friendly, ready to deal with any special demands we had food was great- tapas for starters were delicious as well as the rest we had. Plenty of drinks to chose to satisfy everyones tastes and the final bill did pleasantly surprise us as well. Pub is really nicely decorated as well, showing of local history. 100% recommended!!! Will go back with a smile.
