The shady appearance gives it a very rustic old time feel. The food is great, always good jams on the radio and before COVID it was a awesome little hang out.

I went to the Cosmic Cantina for the first time in 1998 as a sophomore in college.... even though I have moved away from Durham I visit every time I am in town. Went last weekend and it was just as delicious as it was 20 years ago. The best burritos in town and when things get back to normal they are always open late!
I started eating at cosmic cantina in 2003 when I was at ncssm. The food is the same now, that saying, it's still great. The flavors are great, the hole in the wall is still there. It's a local treasure that if you don't know about, you have to be told to find it most likely. Get a hot sauce, it's a special one. Covid has hit the atmosphere a lot, but waiting for my burrito I still had the feels and can't wait to return for another!
Always just fresh, and good, and filling..also good after a long night of drinking \u200d️
I'll try back once this pandemic calms down. The only reason I gave a 1 star is because I walked up the spooky but cool hallway through the red door and the front cashier had her mask down under her chin. The reviews/photos were awesome so I thought I'd give it a try.... :( With the times we are living in; the staff be must super conscience about safety protocols. But I'll check back in another day.
