The Cheeki Diver Inn is a superb place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It offers relatively simple accommodation in a small bay situated in a remote location, although the owners village is just a short walk away. Brenda (the owner) can provide freshly cooked meals every day, for breakfast, lunch and the evenings. Brenda also operates a superb scuba diving experience on local reefs and a WW2 Japanese wreck - as well as visits to a Dugong sanctuary. Brenda is supported by a staff of professional and friendly dive guides along with a suitable dive boat and crew. The diving is superb, and Brenda’s entire team are all excellent dive guides. The accommodation is simple but ideal if you are looking for a private and secluded place to experience the very best of Busuanga Island. Just 45 minutes from the local airport by car, the cottage is perfectly appointed with cold running water, shower, flush toilet, comfortable beds and good in-room fans. The kitchen features a large refrigerator, toaster / grill, kettle and cooker. Make no mistake, this is remote and not a 5 star hotel - but it is authentic, clean and comfortable. I spent a week at the cottage after diving the wrecks of Coron, and frankly the experience at Cheeki Diver Inn was far superior and way more relaxing. Brenda and the team work v very hard to make sure your stay is perfect. It’s a 5 star review from me, and I would definitely like to return.

Really underrated place. Authentic experience. Great kayaking. Beautiful sunrises and wonderfully illuminating moonrises. Really romantic with no frills, simple village life atmosphere. Great for exploration into Maricaban Bay. Whether island hopping or diving, its really worth it and can be done on a relevant budget. Brenda will take good care of you, and put a lot of honest effort to overcome any shortcomings.
I cannot recommend Cheeki Diver Inn highly enough. We have just had a four night stay there and enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing escape from the rest of the world. Don’t expect 5 star luxury but do expect a five star welcome and a unique experience in a fabulous location where you can sit and watch the sun set and rise and the local fishermen setting off for work in their boats Communication with Brenda was easy and everything worked perfectly. Access to the cottage is only by boat or on foot over the hill from the village. The beds are very comfortable and I slept well every night. The cottage has everything that you will need to enjoy your stay. We choose to have our meals provided, they were delicious and either arrived by foot or boat or were cooked for us at the cottage. Brenda is able to organise diving and we had some great dives on both the wreck of the Kyokuzan Maru and the local reefs. We also took the trip that was offered to dive and snorkel with the Dugongs in the Dugong Sanctuary a couple of hours boat ride away. (This was a superb experience and one you shouldn’t miss!) A local village dog called Sid has adopted the cottage and its guests. He spends the night quietly sleeping on the gravel at the front of the cottage and will greet you in the morning and when you return. Sid has a lovely nature, please make sure you feed and leave some water out for him! Brenda is the perfect host, a logistical genius, a highly accomplished diver and most of all, really good fun to be with!
Brenda is a nice host, and the cottage is very comfy. It's great to be there and enjoy the nature, and the moon rise at night. Must go kayaking.
Brenda and her family are very lovely and helpful. You can find her number in TripAdvisor comments or simply check AirBnB for her accommodation. Good value for “budget travelers”. Better contact her first for arriving method. Dirt road could be rough after rain but the accommodation totally worth it. She can also organize dugong trip/snorkeling/diving and meals.
Absolute Gem of a place. Amazing scenery, great diving, Dugong watching. Brenda took good care of us. Steve and Tine
