Visited this little place yesterday. Jake the barman is a lovely guy we had a laugh with him he was very helpful and couldnt do enough for us. Met some nice people who came in for a visit whilst we were in there. All round nice place and made us felt welcome. We will go back for a visit next time we are in york . Worth a visit def.

Best Pub in York , landlord and staff are always fantastic. Good pizza too!
On the upside it was nice and warm but on the downside - that means limited ventilation! U can't win these days! Quiet and unatmospheric late in the evening (when I say late - it was all of 9PM ) But an alright place I wouldn't mind going back to all told.
Nice old world pub, heated beer garden, nice drinks and a friendly landlord. Pizzas are also too notch made with local ingredients. Highly reccomend this place.
Great food. Friendly staff. Great place for a selection of drinks.
