my mother lived here for several years (more than 5). she recently moved out due to having dementia and other medical conditions that cause her to fall frequently (had 2 incidents last weekend that landed her in the hospital from 3/25-3/27). my mother had to move to another state with other family members because there is no one to take care of her in florida. i spoke to tracy ansonia about this on 3/25 and she wasnt very understanding of the whole situation. she has known about my mothers condition for a while. tracy stated my mother would have to give a 30 day notice and i advised tracy that there is no way this could happen because my mother was moving on 3/28. tracy then explained that my mother would not get her deposit back. i am sure these types of situations happen all of the time where someone has to leave the apt early and i understand there is a lease they sign but this was an extenuating circumstance. i really find this type of policy/treatment a little disturbing especially for an elderly person that doesnt have a choice in the situation. it wasnt something my mother planned or could have controlled. i am very disgusted with this whole process. my mothers apt is in excellent condition and i know there is a waiting list for people to move into st andrews towers so its not like any work needs to be done or the spot wont be filled right away. you should highly reconsider how this process is handled. seems like you are concerned about money than a residents well being. they are part of catholic health services so it boggles my mind how they can treat people like this
