Carola was excellent ensuring that everyone had a fantastic birthday party! She arrived on time and ready to start cooking withing 2-3 minutes. She took over the party (as we'd hoped for) and left the adults to chill in another room whilst the kids caused mayhem in the dining room! Exactly what we'd expected!
We hired Cookie Crumbles for my daughter's 8th birthday party and had a really fun afternoon. Carola is friendly and organised, and the 10 girls had a great time. Lots of laughs and creativity, and everyone got to take 4 desserts home with them. Highly recommended!
Mixed Experience after using Cookie Crumbles for my daughter's birthday party. While the concept of these cooking workshops for a birthday party is seducing I have been a bit disappointed by the attitude of the staff. I am not sure I would recommend it. Or if you are considering it then I think it is more suitable for children who are at least 8 and in a small group - no more than 12. While the staff is super organised in the kitchen I did not feel they understand the children and how to connect with them. Which is a real shame. It is all about the business in the end... The \what\ is there and fully delivered but I feel the \how\ was really missing: the emotional connection. Carola, the owner of the business, can come across as quite abrupt and cold. She barely introduced herself upon arrival and nearly left without saying goodbye. She did not check in a single time with me to see whether I was happy or not. Prior to the party I had the most difficulty to get full visibility on what would be included or not during the day despite several attempts to do so. Yet she chased me the day after she sent the invoice to get full payment. Carola is clearly here to run a business and make money - which we all get but that does not mean that you cannot be nice with your clientele and have more consideration for them. Especially if you wish the word of mouth to do its work. In the end I felt like a walking wallet! I actually found her really arrogant. I rarely write any review but this time I feel people deserve to know. A real shame as again the concept is brilliant and smart. In conclusion a bitter sweet experience.
I love the Cookie Crumbles baking mixes. I picked up the brownie one from Whole Foods on a whim and it was delicious. Didn't last long around the house. Looking forward to trying some more of the other flavours.
