It's good if you go to the right part of the woods, not the samey wooden chair part.
Great spot for walking the dog. A short walk down Polden way and you get to Great Breech wood where there is a discovery trail.
Love walks through here, especially in the summer. There are lots of different trails that all intertwine and cross over. We noticed there was also a butterfly trail that many people were using to catch a glimpse of a rare blue butterfly. We took our Labrador and two children for a Sunday walk in July when we had the hot weather, which was bliss with so much shelter and shade from the trees. There is plenty of parking and areas for picnics.
Beautiful woodlands. On road parking. No toileting facilities close by so be prepared. The woodlands itself isn't suitable for those with mobility difficulties but would suit the Explorer or gentle mountain biker. No taxing hills of great length but enough to keep it interesting. I went with two children aged 2 and 4 and they thoroughly enjoyed exploring freely and didn't find the walking too challenging. :) Enjoy the woods and the surrounding areas!
