We've just had a takeaway from Curry Leaves and it was fabulous. I'd recommend the food to anyone who likes spice and is looking to try something more exotic than the run of the mill takeaway. As other (Indian) reviewers have noted; the food is authentic Indian and is real curry, not just meat or vegetables in sauce. So much better for it, too. We tried chicken, lamb and fish dishes, all of which were beautifully cooked and succulent. The rice was lovely and fragrant and the bread was light, with a fresh, savoury tang. What really stood out was the variety of flavours in each dish, every mouthful had something new to taste in it. Testament to the use of proper spices rather than powders and ready made sauces, and to the different cooking methods used. Thank you Curry Leaves for such a delicious meal. Shall come to the restaurant when you're allowed to re-open.

Excellent! Finally a proper authentic Indian restaurant in Colchester... going to save me a fair few trips to London for food! Chicken lollypops, Chilli fish and the achari mutton were beautifully cooked with fresh spices and masala. Highly recommend this new restaurant!
Brilliant! Glad this place re-opened. Fresh zingy flavours, nice portions. I do hope they keep this high standard going and that their service doesn't let them down.
Not to be down on classic British curry houses but this place offers something completely unlike what I am used to, freshness in abundance, you will walk out feeling satisfied AND light, full of lovely vegetables not done to death in the slightest, very friendly chap at the door as well. 10/10!
This food is amazing! (First time trying the Chicken Biryani and the special Chicken Lollipop on the side)What sets Curry leaves apart is their exceptional service.The staff are friendly and are so attentive. They're always on hand to offer advice on what to order, asking if we would like extra food/ drinks.. Absolutely great experience!
