It is unfortunate that a majority of the place was dismantled and sold off. The place is in a constant state of renovation. There was a nice film explaining the history and the audio guide helped walk us through what was left on the place. Stepping outside and seeing where the footings are represented on the ground shows the shadow of the size of the Abby at one time. So little is left that I don’t know if the money to learn about it is worth it.

Beautiful place. A good chapter of the history of Catholic church's power.
An incredible place but personally I would have liked more medieval history and less about modern 19th architecture. It is an amazing building. I had just hoped for more of the history.
It is a nice place to visit to see one of the oldest churches and it’s ruins.
Informative and interesting abbey ruins. Well worth the admission price. Book online for a small discount. Children go free.
It is hard to imagine what was destroyed during the time of the revolution. The Biggest church before the basilica in the Vatican. Low quality of guiding
A breathtaking, historical monument that you have to see. Regardless of religion. This is stunning.
Fascinating history. Mostly destroyed after the revolution. Surviving buildings have been restored. Various models of what the abbey used to look like. The town around the abbey has ruins of it. Pair of palaces. One now a town hall the other a museum.
