This restaurant is excellent. The staff attentive and the food superb. We visited a few \high end\ local restaurants and left disappointed. This is the only good place we found. I likely wont be visiting Barnstaple again but if I do, I will sure drop past this restaurant.

I was amazed I haven't reviewed Clayton's yet despite being here so many times before over the years, but today's visit was not the last! Delicious food, wife had salmon fishcakes followed by the venison while I had chicken liver parfait followed by their signature pork burger, which was a fusion of complementary flavours! Only took one pic of my starter as I was so sure I'd reviewed here before. Eat here! It's delicious and the staff are very professional, the interior is very pleasant and upmarket without being too much. And of course the food is well priced as well as being top notch!
Great service and delicious food and also good value. We weren’t sure what to expect on a Monday night in October but were pleasantly surprised. We had a mix & match of the Chef’s menu and normal and it was all delicious. We’ll go back!
Asking so many times if you are ready to order put under pressure. The chairs need to be cleaned I found the bill a bit to much for the food quality. You can improve easily and next time I'm sure will be a 4
My only complaint is that the chairs in the glasshouse are not very comfortable for long term sitting. Otherwise delicious. Can't recommend the pretzel bread roll the burgers come in enough. I dream about that bread. The chicken burger is amazing and the takeaway food somehow manages to remain amazing. 100% recommend.
