Lovely garden centre with a nice cafe. Ideally located on peel retails park in Washington. Staff extremely helpful and good selection of plants and gifts. Definitely worth a visit

I have visited Clays since it opened . It had lots of parking spaces and access to your car is very easy. There is a vast selection of items ......it's a seasonal turnover with plant's . This time of the year they have a spectacular display of Christmas goods. Once you have browsed there is a cafe ......Clays is very wheelchair friendly and there are toilets if needed ......well worth a visit especially if you like feeding the birds they have lots of bits and pieces for birds
I am lucky enough to live only a few minutes away from a 'real' garden centre. Run by experts for enthusiasts. Like all garden centres their plants may not be as cheap as those from supermarkets, but they're cared for properly, not allowed to dry-out and die. Clay's provide a tremendous range of quality plants that will last for years. It's also just a nice place to be with friendly, knowledgeable staff. And, with Christmas on the way, don't miss their fantastic display, it puts others to shame. I cannot recommend Clays highly enough!
One of the best Christmas tree and decorations displays in the North East, if you can't find what you are looking for here it doesn't exist.
Wow! We've been back to Clays Christmas extravaganza. It's now totally finished since our last visit, we think it's better than fabulous. Take the kids, they'll love it. Our previous comments:. Great Garden Centre, quality plants & goods. It's full speed ahead for Christmas now, many areas are already set up with fabulous displays. Clays is always good for a reasonably priced snack, nice food & good service.
