Easy access and a beautiful river!
The Clarion River is a tributary of the Allegheny River, approximately 110 mi long, in west central Pennsylvania in the United States. It drains a rugged area of the Allegheny Plateau in the Ohio River watershed, flowing through narrow serpentine valleys and hardwood forests.
We went tubing in Cook Forest. We found places to park easily and there were plenty of paths to the river. We kept hitting some rocks but that was due to the water level. The place itself was great.
What an amazing place I happen to be from Washington State where we have Forest like this everywhere and anytime I am missing home I go for a drive through Cook Forest and immediately feel like I am in my own backyard back home. I highly recommend visiting if you want to get a glimpse of what some of the other side of the country is like without a long drive. Miles and miles of trails to hike and an infinite amount of things to see. Beautiful!
