I celebrated my 60th birthday in a rented house in Salcombe. Claire's Kitchen came highly recommended to us. There were 35 of us in total and people had come from across the country. This could have been potential for stress but from the outset Claire was not only extremely professional but went over and above what was expected, in order to help us and to overcome several dietary requirements. Nothing was too much bother but most importantly the food presentation was SO impressive - the main course delivered hot with several choices. Absolutely delicious food including lamb from Claire's farm. We have dined in some of the World's top restaurants but I can honestly say that we could not have been more impressed. The ladies helping to serve were charming, attentive and professional. I'm not given to writing reviews as a rule but we are so impressed and simply could not recommend Claire's Kitchen any more highly! A superb and wonderful service from start to finish. We couldn’t recommend Claire and her team more. They were all professional and went above and beyond on the day. The food, from the canapes to all parts of the main meal, was amazing and they cooked it all perfectly in suboptimal conditions without a word of complaint. Even now 18 months down the line our friends still rave about the food. We couldn’t thank them more and I’ll always be grateful to them and Claire for making our wedding day so great.
Claires Kitchen did all the catering for our daughters wedding weekend. A hog roast for 120 people from a custom made BBQ and amazing vegetarian dishes with multiple colourful salads, followed by a lunch buffet for 50 people the next day.The food was absolutely first class served by friendly staff.We received so many positive comments about the food - 'best wedding food ever', the best chocolate brownies and even requests for the vegetarian recipes from carnivores! Having used Claire before for a party, we knew she would be superb and she was.We shall use her again
This wonderful cordon bleu caterer was not fazed by cooking for 39 people in a room with not much space to serve. We much enjoyed the first course of smoked duck and avocado, then all commented on the wild sea bass deliciously stuffed with fennel prawns and lemon with a light wine cream sauce. Mmmm! finishing off with a medley of sweets, we sent our compliments to the chef.
Claire and her team catered for our wedding in sunny Devon in June this year. Claire was extremely professional when we first met her and was clear and transparent about the excellent farm to table food choices, local sourcing, costs and staffing from the outset. Closer to the big day we were particularly impressed with her expertise and guidance with dietary requirements and children's needs, as well as her very helpful advice on timings during the day. The food was superb, colourful and exquisite, and reflected her brilliant expertise of over 30 years as an award winning chef. Claire delivered a sterling sirloin roast dinner with locally sourced seasonal vegetables on the night. The beef was beatifully cooked, soft and wonderfully tender, and together with the gravy they were certainly extremely popular with all the guests! And not to mention her unique chocolate torte and merengue wedding cake with berries of all sorts and flavours - best cake in the world! Thanks to her first class stewardship throughout the day the staff were smoothly managed at all times. The staff were always courteous and diligent which we really appreciated. Claire is a very friendly and approachable people person and she has the ability to get on with everyone. We were extremely privileged to have her as our caterer, meet her at her farm near Salcombe and see her unique kitchen which she was very proud of, and of course to share a few laughs along the way.
