Been getting chips as a treat here for so many years. Always excellent service and food. They have an excellent reputation with the locals as the best chip shop in Canterbury by a long way. Some of these reviews are I'm guessing for the wrong place!

I would put 0 stars if I could. Before I start, this is my first ever bad review of anywhere. Ordered a Pizza, which arrived two hours early (these things happen). Put my children to bed, come and see the Pizza and it wasnt what we ordered. We ordered a half and half, one meat one vegetarian. There was a clear label on the special instructions for the Pizza to have a clear divide as my Wife is vegetarian. I called to complain, I got told I was wrong, the Pizza was perfect, and that they would not do anything. After some debate, they agreed to send a new one, but insisted we did not touch the one we had ssnt, as if we would do something to it. Ultimately I stated they could collect it, but we wanted a refund as they did not deserve our custom with this level of service. They refused to give one. Appalling customer service. Appalling respect for those with dietary requirements. This is against trading standards, as it is a product that has been sold that cannot be used, as such our bank has taken action to cancel the payment. Trading standards referral will also follow. Picture below to show how much of the Pizza was actually edible for my Wife. Certainly not a half and half.
I cannot believe some of these reviews! The staff are a friendly bunch, and are the owners of a pillar of the community. I cannot say a single bad thing about this place; the food is delicious. If I had to give one complaint, it would be that a couple of the chips are a tad underdone. and by a couple, i mean 1/100. Best fish and chips in Canterbury, and with good reason. a tad pricey, but you cannot put a price on quality.
When it says best fish and chips in town, they are not kidding. One of the best fish and chip shops I have ever been too. If you are visiting Canterbury, I would highly recommend popping in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will be visiting again soon.
