Wonderful staff, caring owner, excellent food in a family style atmosphere. Every single item ordered off the menu was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended to treat yourself and loved ones.

Cool themed restaurant with a cozy at-home vibe. Steak (Ribeye) was to die for, which itself earns the five star rating. My wife enjoyed the salmon. T-ravs were on point, though onion rings, while crisp, were a bit bland. Bar had wide array of spirits to choose. Overall, great place.

Dining here is quite memorable. The servers are smooth and know their craft. The ambience is exquisite and the wine list impressive. The Creamed Spinach is made fresh daily. In season fresh vegetables are available as well as several potato offerings. I love Creamed Spinach, but my server suggested that I try the Flash Fried Spinach. It was beyond delicious. My Pork Chop was moist and accompanied by an Apple Ring and Horseradish Sauce. Filet Mignon, Shrimp Scampi, Rib Eye and New York Strip are available as well as Cheesecake, Caramel Flan and Chocolate Cake.

Quaint restaurant in a historic home. Reservations are encouraged. The salads and apps were quite tasty. My party ordered a variety of cuts of meat. The Ribeyes came out very much underdone, but the strips were perfect and delicious. Dessert is also fairly good here. Valet parking is available though you can pull around out back and park yourself.

I've been to Citizen Kane's several times over the last 5-10 years, and most recently Fall 2020. The atmosphere is homely, and the restaurant fits seamlessly into the neighborhood surrounding it. Service has generally been OK, though I think they would benefit from more experienced servers. My only real gripe is that the steaks aren't USDA Prime, but they're still being charged that way (50 for a basic filet). There are other steakhouses in St. Louis that don't serve USDA Prime, like Sam's, Hamilton's, and Carnivore, that still manage to do an excellent job while charging a fair price for the product. This was especially apparent on my most recent visit to Citizen Kane's when my medium steak came out well done. If you are already willing to spend 200 on a date night to a steakhouse, I'd recommend somewhere like 801, Annie Gunn's, Ruth's Chris, etc., where you're more likely to get your money's worth. (Though I understand the neighborhood appeal of a place like this, to be sure.)
