So lovely to be back in church, did not expect to feel so moved. Very different to my last visit in March when we were in Lent and now Easter and Pentecost have been and gone without a congregation, I never thought that COVID 19 was going to be as serious as it has been, and still is. Social distancing observed, entry by pre-booked ticket only, one way entry and exit, hand sanitizer and no singing, but it still felt wonderful ! The parishioners make this a very caring church community and hopefully in the months to come, they will be able to welcome more new members , but right now, they are doing an excellent job of looking after the current congregation and which I have to thank them for. Add in an open minded, humble and inclusive parish priest, and there can be few better places for a Sunday Mass. Tickets available only by telephoning the Church Office during its opening hours.

We visited this church while we were on holiday and we were warmly received when we arrived for mass on a Sunday morning. It is a modern church which is in an excellent state of repair. We met their new priest who had only been appointed 10 days previously and we were delighted to find that he had been a student at Plater College over 30 years ago when my wife was studying there and that he remembered her. When we arrive in church we like to spend some time in silent prayer in preparation for the divine service - we found that we were unable to do this as there was so much conversation taking place that we could just as well have been in a crowded restaurant. We were able to remedy this on the following day when we attended adoration but we were a little concerned when we found we were the only people present in the church and that only two people appeared to have signed the rota for the day. It was a relief when two more people arrived after half an hour as there was no way in which we were prepared to leave the Blessed Sacrament unattended.
