Probably best steak house in Edinburgh. When your main selling point is cooking steak then you need to be good. And Chop House Market Street were. Good quality cut of meat cooked as medium rare. Flavourable while remaining juicy. Just the right side of tender making it pleasurable to eat. Add in a good range of sides (truffle chips a favourite) add to the steak well. Staff friendly with quick service.

Came here for our first night in Edinburgh, it’s a little over our usual budget but we thought we would treat ourselves. I had the rump steak which was quite chewy and not worth the 18. The sides are not included in that price but they were actually quite nice. I would recommend the Mac and cheese. The service wasn’t great, the waitress even asked us if we are giving her a tip at the end which was just awkward. We ordered 2 espresso martinis at 9 each and they turned up in tiny glasses and not looking like your typical espresso martini, we weren’t overly impressed with this place and would not eat there again.
Nice venue, steak was average and overpriced, burger was ok but at least the mac n cheese was good! Seemed most staff were really good although ours was a little cold and actually asked for a tip at the end which was pretty awkward. Espresso mar”teenie” was small in size, big in price! Wasn’t the worst but wouldn’t go back.
For a long time my favourite steak in Edinburgh and the lockdown has not changed that one bit. Great drinks and seafood too, I really can't fault the Chop House.
Not quite a 4 star, but definitely not a 3. Decent meat, amazing sides.
