After spending about 6 months with another martial arts school, my wife and I were considering stopping karate for our then 7 year old, and finding a different activity all together for our child due the the fact he really wasn’t getting much out of it, it being very unorganized, and our son viewing it as a chore as opposed to something fun. Hesitantly at first, we decided to give Choe’s HapKiDo a chance - and it turns out to be one of the best decisions we ever made. In coming up on a year, our child looks forward to class and wants to attend as many as possible. The first thing he usually asks when he gets in the car is “when do I get to come back again?”. I don’t have enough good things to stay about this place. From the instructors to the curriculum, everything exceeds our expectations. This program has benefitted our child in more ways than just teaching him the art of HapKiDo. Our sons respect for adults and willingness to help other people has increased ten-fold as result from what he gets out of class. It’s now not out of the norm for him to answer people with responses like “yes sir” or “yes ma’am” in everyday conversation, and it’s great. The instructors constantly go above and beyond to improve the lives of their students, while keeping them engaged at the same time. From fun activities at the end of some classes, and take home challenges that they love - we couldn’t be more grateful for the impact this place has on our child’s lives. If you’re debating giving this program a shot, stop now and give it a shot. You won’t regret it.
