Such a shame, the garden centre itself is nice, lovely displays of Christmas stuff, unusual gift ideas and other interesting things. However the café is another matter. They seem to have taken all the right steps to spread out tables, replace some open tables with cubicles etc, but the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered Brie and bacon burgers - no Brie at 12 pm? Settled for cheeseburger with extra bacon which was fine. We asked for one burger with no bun or chips but it was delivered with both - gentleman quite happy to remove chips but really, the order should have been right to start with. Food was nice enough, garden salad was fresh and tasty, no complaints about the quality of food BUT having to wait over an hour for our meals to be served wasn’t acceptable especially as the place wasn’t that busy! Bottom line, don’t bother if you’re hungry!

I reviewed the cafe here 4 years ago as below and have been a regular visitor over the years. I now very dissapointed to note that the provision for dog owners has dropped and I will be finding somewhere else to go. They now have a doggie seating area which I wouldn't think meets the current guidelines on social distancing, especially when their signs all ask you to keep 2m apart. The area as you can see from the photo is nearly filled with my dog and if there were several dogs this could turn very nasty in such a confined area. Not knowing the new arrangements I took my dog in with me to purchase my order, which although i have not seen any signs saying this is not permitted, there is nowhere in the \doggie area\ adequate I could tie him to, as weighing 45kg even the tables he could easily move!

The garden centre itself is quite nice and seems to have some good bits for the kids and a good selection for the grownups. Probably wouldnt use the cafe again. My family found our breakfasts were cold and multiple items were wrong on our order. But this may have just been an off day
