The chateau should be advertising that they are closed, when you enter their gift shop you should not be offered the opportunity for you 2 euros per person to stand or sit in a cafe terrace and \courtyard\ which looks like a car park! We understood that the courtyard was not something that could be seen from the shop doorway, perhaps a communication error between languages. In my honest opinion a total rip off. Please update your website/google listing and TripAdvisor as closed to the public during the coronavirus.

A truly well preserved castle with a very interesting visitor experience. You are provided with an iPad and an application. There is also some guides for you. We were lucky enough to meet the family living there. Make sure to pay a visit to the city of Chimay that is beautiful as well.

Biggest rip off in Belgium!! Today we paid 4 to stand in a car park. How lucky were we!! To be fair, we were warned that we only had access to the courtyard and terrace, but we didn’t imagine that all we had access to was literally what we could see from the doorway. It really would have been helpful just to say just have a look out the door. And really, 4 for car park access? Congrats, you have enlisted some disgruntled tourists to assist with your rankings. In summary DO NOT BOTHER.

6 euro to view a 20 min film and not even be allowed to visit the gardens. The film was interesting, but that's it. For us it was very disappointing.

There are only 6 rooms chapel but still it is worth to see and hear the story of Chimay family. You can even meet real princess Elisabeth de Chimay who is 93 yo and is very warm person. And don't hesitate to ask the guide about anything. He is really passionate person and fully dedicated to his job.
