The food was great the beef was a bit cold and dessert took a while to come out. Jazz was great the guy was really good but the room was chilly. Staff were polite and helpful. Hopefully it improves as it has alot of potential.
We booked for the live jazz Sunday lunch with a bottle of wine for 30. A bargain I thought...firstly, the wine was good and the waitress was lovely,friendly and helpful. We had the lamb which was cooked well,the veg was ok but I think the roast potatoes had been reheated a few times and what was supposed to be a Yorkshire was a batter biscuit! I had to ask for mint sauce as it wasn't offered. The amount of food wasn't loads but for the price it was fine. There were 2 options for dessert and an ice cream option. I asked for rhubarb crumble and was told I could have it but it would have to be with \some sort of chocolate topping\ as they had no crumble. I declined. lastly, the kitchen staff kept walking through the restaurant(, at least 4 times )to go outside for a smoke which I thought was unprofessional and unhygienic. And what happened to the live jazz!!! There wasn't any.
2 for 1 cocktails... sounds great, but no where does it tell you it’s only on a certain 3. I only found this out after ordering, plus the Long Island Iced Tea, was a cup full of ice, tasted like lemonade with only a hint of alcohol. To their credit they did make us new drinks after we complained. Bit of a shame, expected better and couldn’t hear a thing over the music.
Had lunch at Woodys on 9.1.2020..Food was delicious,fresh and beautifully cooked.Would recommend to people to try.. A very relaxed time and friendly staff. s
