Food was good but we wait for 45 minutes to get our food

I wanted so much to like this little restaurant. We were the only ones in there (aside from the individual working there) and we ordered a torta, tacos and an appetizer platter to share, as well as two horchatas. We also got some chips and salsa. The flavor of the salsa would have been best as something added to our food for flavor, rather than have it as a stand-alone for the chips. Everything arrived at roughly the same time, which is fine, but the food seemed meh...like prepackaged frozen food that was just dropped in the fryer. The horchata was from a powdered mix - it had a chalky flavor and left about an inch of sludge at the bottom of the cup. The tamal tasted like cornbread, the refried beans were very thin and...smooth, almost like a bean soup. Sadly, mostly everything else was bland. Maybe it was just an off day, maybe the individual there that day (who was very nice and attentive) just isn't much of a cook.
